Help please.

Have purchased a Hive 2 for fitting to my Potterton Promax HE Plus combi boiler and am having trouble with the receiver installation. There is no thermostat fitted currently - only a mechanical clock which switches the boiler on/off at set times. Temp is controlled through TRVs on the radiators.

I've wired up the receiver in the following way:
N - permanent neutral to the boiler
L - permanent live to the boiler
Earth - connected to earth in boiler
1 (common) - linked this to L terminal above with link wire
2 Heating Off (NC) - left this unconnected
3 Heating On (NO) - connected to switched live return
4 unused - left this unconnected

I've removed the mechanical clock and connected the supplies back up, but the receiver is not firing the boiler up on a demand from the wireless thermostat.

Any advice on where I may have gone wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.
